Producing 120,000 tonnes of fruit each year, Actel is the largest cooperative producer of sweet fruit in Spain (pears, apples, peaches, nectarines, plums, cherries, apricots, etc) and attractive fruit products designed to cater for new trends in the industrial and consumer sectors, like its Mama Fruta range.

When the Fruit Logistics Centre was created in 1993, it was a pioneering development that brought together production packaging for 32 cooperatives in the Fruit Sector. An initiative that has been copied by other important European groups, the Centre represented a technological development that consolidated Actel’s position as the leading fresh-fruit distributor in Spain. This facility, which has been certified by the most important official bodies (BRC, IFS, ISO 9001), guarantees the quality of all of Actel’s producer partners.

State-of-the-art technology is combined with Actel’s own certified traceability systems and adapted for use with all fruit varieties (according to size, weight, colour and sugar content), thus ensuring that their individual characteristics are maintained throughout the handling process, from the tree to the customer.

Its 22 cold-storage facilities offer GrupActel the capacity to store more than 90,000 tonnes of fruit in optimum conditions (AC, ULO) until it is packaged.
